How to Contact Jackie
Jackie Rosenberger grew up in Pennsylvania and earned a B.S. Biology and minor in Geographic Information Science from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. She worked for Shippensburg University’s Center for Land Use and Sustainability, where she completed an environmental GIS project, which consisted of building a collection of geodatabases, calculating scientific metrics, and assisting in the creation of an ArcGIS Interactive Story Map. This project was conducted for the Kittatinny Ridge region of Pennsylvania, an area classified as a Global Important Bird Area. As an undergraduate, she also worked on a project in collaboration with the PA Game Commission to study the effects of prescribed fire on small mammal and tick abundance in a lowland forested landscape. Jackie has also worked as a White-tailed Deer Biologist Aide for the PA Game Commission, where she captured and monitored survival of fawns and assisted with black bear capture. For her Master's degree, she is excited to be working on a deer research project in the Chattahoochee National Forest in North Georgia, where she will be studying deer movements during hunting season and human dimensions aspects of deer management. Jackie is eager to help contribute to the conservation and management of deer in the national forest, where populations have been experiencing drastic declines over recent decades.
